The Best Studio Monitors of 2024: Adam Audio D3V
More than ever, manufacturers are looking at the home studio market with a fresh approach. Rather than having to treat that spare bedroom in your apartment, you can simply use compact monitors like the Adam Audio D3V, designed for small untreated spaces.
Whether you position them on your desktop or mount them on a stand, the D3V has different corrective DSP modes to compensate for its positioning in an untreated room. All amplification and connectivity are contained within the left monitor, including power for the 3.5-inch (70W) main drivers and the 1.5-inch (30W) D-ART ribbon tweeter.
With the dual passive radiators, the low-end response is extended down to 45 Hz, which is impressive for a compact monitor. Meanwhile, there is both analogue and USB-C connectivity for a range of devices.

The front-ported, bi-amplified design offers impressive power handling with an integrated brick wall limiting to protect the system from any unexpected signal spikes.
For a monitor in this price range, the DSP features are extensive, with app-based correction features including 25 EQ profiles and 3 different voicing modes for different applications in your studio.

Meanwhile, there are acoustic tuning controls for the midrange (1 kHz Bell) and highs (10 kHz Shelf), as well as a low-cut filter with 80 Hz and 100 Hz settings, and an acoustic space switch to reduce the boundary effect.
Also on the Eris Pro’s rear panel, you’ll find connectivity for balanced and unbalanced signals and the speaker is compatible with a mounting bracket that allows you to use it in immersive configurations.

The Best Studio Monitors of 2024: IK Multimedia iLoud MTM MKII
Despite the constant waffling from YouTube creators about how bigger is always better when it comes to studio monitors, IK Multimedia has upgraded the small-but-mighty iLoud MTM in almost every way.
The original iLoud MTM was loved for its translation properties first and foremost, and developed a stellar reputation for producing results even in small, untreated rooms. The powerful bass reflex system is comprised of dual 3.5-inch (70W) drivers for the bass and midrange, and 1-inch (30W) tweeters with a 2800 Hz crossover.
In addition, the MKII version has XLR combo inputs and the calibration features have been expanded with IK Multimedia’s X-Monitor software and the included ARC microphone. Although the price hike is considerable compared to the previous version, the iLoud MTM MKII is still one of the finest compact monitors available.
