The Beyerdynamic DT 7X IE in-ear monitors offer four new models, each one designed for specific live sound monitoring applications.

Beyerdynamic is a brand built almost solely on the quality of its microphone and headphone technology. So we’re excited to see what these new IEMs are like.

The DT Series IEMs are handbuilt in Heilbronn, Germany with Beyerdynamic’s TESLA.11 drivers. They offer ultra low distortion levels (0.02% at 1 kHz) and an astounding max SPL of 137 dB. The design is based on the data from hundreds of different MRI human ear profiles, so they can guarantee a great fit, with isolation of -39 dB, perfect for high-SPL live stages.

More Information

The DT Series consists of four different models, so let’s take a brief look at each one:

  • DT 70 IE: Designed for mixing with a balanced sonic profile, ideal for live sound engineers. (Product Page)
  • DT 71 IE: Built for drummers and bass guitarists with a powerful low-frequency range, slightly scooped mids, and pronounced highs. (Product Page)
  • DT 72 IE: The characteristically natural low range and delicate highs make these perfect for vocals and guitar. (Product Page)
  • DT 73 IE: Transparent reproduction all the way up to the upper mids and a slight high-frequency boost after 5 kHz make these great for monitoring keyboards, pianos, and other orchestral instruments. (Product Page)

To develop the four distinctive IEM profiles, Beyerdynamic has worked closely with professional engineers and musicians in the industry. While three of the models (DT 70 IE, DT 72 IE, and DT 73 IE) are IP68 certified, the DT 71 IE is IP65 rated when it comes into contact with water or dust.
