Blackstar TV-10 B: Boutique Look with Vintage Tones and EL34 Tubes
[05 November 2024] The Blackstar TV-10 B is now available with EL34 tubes and once again delivers authentic British tone (that’s why it’s called “B” – the “A” version sounds American) with modern features and great looks. The perfect tube amp for studio recordings and small gigs.
All About the New Blackstar Amps
Blackstar TV-10 B
The new Blackstar TV-10 B is also a a beautiful amp. It comes in a stylish olive Tolex cover, this time with EL34 power tubes and a specially designed reverb. All other features are of course taken from the TV-10 A. The EL34 tubes should give the amp a slightly different “British” character than the 6V6 tubes.
The Blackstar TV-10 B will soon be available here at Thomann* for €666.00.
Authentic American-voiced combo
[16 July 2024] The Blackstar TV-10 A is a new American-voiced all-tube combo with a 6L6 power tube section that offers vintage voicing. This could be the perfect studio amp with vintage voicing, boutique styling, and modern features.
Blackstar TV-10 A
The new Blackstar TV-10 A combo offers 10 watts of tube power via a single 12″ Celestion speaker and has been voiced explicitly with an American-amp tone. It comes in a cream Tolex with a tan leather handle and wheat-coloured grille cloth.
American Tube Tone
A 6L6 tube section powers this Class A power output combo and is complemented by an ECC83 preamp tube.
Simple yet effective
It has a simple control layout with Gain, Tone, Reverb, and Master knobs on the top panel, along with power and standby switches.
I like simplicity, and so this layout appeals to me a lot. There is also a push button to engage the onboard drive section, which can be operated via the included footswitch.
Studio Use
It has a convenient emulated line output after the power amp section, making it perfect for recording to a DAW or similar. This will be an excellent way to capture all that warm tube tone and give players options when recording.
Digital Reverb
This modern combo has digital reverb and an effects loop with a level switch (+4dBV/-10dBV) on the rear panel, so it should work well with all your favorite stompboxes. The optional Blackstar FS8 footswitch can also turn the reverb on and off.
There’s also a headphone output for quiet practice, which is a helpful feature. I also like that the amp has outputs for speakers on 8-16 ohms, which means users can experiment with different speaker setups.
If you are looking for a low-wattage classic American voiced amp, this could be just what you need.
