Standberg’s Boden JR Sorceror is the signature model for the renowned musician and composer Jordan Rudess. This mystical purple headless beast is an eye-catching design that stands out as something special.
Boden JR Sorceror
Strandberg Guitars’ long-standing collaboration with legendary musician and composer Jordan Rudess has yielded another masterpiece. Renowned for his versatility, Jordan seamlessly transitions between keyboards in Dream Theater, music software development, music education, and pushing the boundaries of the electric guitar.
The man is unstoppable, so expect his guitar to be something extraordinary.
Mystical
It has a chambered swamp ash body, solid maple top, and flame maple veneer.
Clad in a striking transparent metallic purple burst gloss finish, the Sorcerer boasts a roasted maple bolt-on neck with carbon fiber reinforcements, distinctive fretboard inlays, the cutting-edge Strandberg EGS Rev7B tremolo bridge, and the Sustainiac Stealth Pro sustainer system.
EndurNeck
The 20-inch radius Ebonol fretboard has 24 Jescar 51100 stainless steel frets. Combine this with the EndurNeck profile, and this guitar should be a smooth ride to play. It has a set of Luminlay side dots and florescent Custom Sorcerer Inlays, so it glows.
This guitar’s bridge pickup is the Suhr SSH+ Bridge Humbucker model. The control layout consists of a master volume, a three-way pickup selector switch, and two mini toggle switches.
One mini-toggle switch is for Sustainiac On/Off, and the other is for accessing the modes of the Susatiniac. This extraordinary instrument is a perfect match for Jordan’s boundless creativity and technical prowess.
Each Boden JR Sorceror also comes with an exclusive print signed by Jordan Rudess.
Verdict
It is a very striking guitar, and those inlays combined with the purple finish will appeal to many guitarists and fans of Dream Theater. It is a lightweight powerhouse for any musician who needs high performance from their guitar.
They are a limited edition and aren’t cheap at $3499. But I guess fans of Rudess will want to grab one anyway.
