BOSS Dual Cube LX and Dual Cube Bass LX
Two new portable 10-watt amps packed with useful features
BOSS Dual Cube LX guitar and bass amps have just launched. Offering portable stereo mini combos, perfect for practice and on-the-go use. Each amp also has plenty of useful benefits including effects on an onboard looper.
Dual Cube LX
The new BOSS Dual Cube LX and BOSS Dual Cube Bass LX are both portable amps, perfect for many applications. They are both stereo amps, featuring twin custom 4″ speakers (or 5″ speakers for the bass version) and a 10-watt stereo power amp with 5-watt per side. Portability is key and they can be powered either via the included AC adaptor or eight AA batteries.
Guitar
First up is the BOSS Dual Cube LX which is the guitar version and comes with 8 newly developed guitar amp types along with one mic preamp type. It also features 7 onboard effects along with a 3-band EQ and these can be edited using the Dual Cube LX Editor app. The Dual Cube LX can store amp and effects settings in 27 memories with 3 memories available for each amp type.
Key Features
They also have a stereo input mode, perfect for modellers and stereo pedals, plus a stereo line output with a mic’d up cabinet emulation. Other useful features include USB audio for direct recording and live streaming, a jack for up to two external footswitches and an onboard looper. There is also an i-CUBE Link/Aux In jack for audio playback and a phones/rec jack which has support for an inline headphones microphone.
Finally, there is also a connection for the optional BluetoothAudio MIDI Dual Adaptor (BT-DUAL).
Bass
This BOSS Dual Cube Bass LX is the bass version, as the name suggests. It has the larger 5″ speaker and features 5 preamp types: Super Flat, Flat, Vintage, Modern, and Rock. Onboard effects include a compressor/drive control tuned for bass, plus chorus, flanger, touch wah, delay and reverb effects. Again, this model also has a three-band equalizer. Users can also save and edit using the Dual Cube LX Editor app.
This model features a stereo XLR balanced line output and has onboard rhythms with 27 different patterns. It has practically the same set of inputs and outputs as the guitar version, just without the mic’d cabinet simulations.
