Build Kontakt interfaces with Rigid Audio’s Kontakt GUI Maker
Now here’s something useful for all you sound designers and instrument builders. Rigid Audio, producers of a wide range of Kontakt based sound library, have been building a Kontakt GUI Maker. It takes out much of the sweat and tears in creating an interface for your Kontakt sound library and replaces it with a drag and drop designer.
Kontakt GUI Maker
The graphical user interface has become a large part of what Kontakt is all about. Many pro-level libraries come with animated works of art behind the carefully arranged knobs and sliders. Creating those interfaces can be enormously time consuming and tedious. It’s all done by code which many people find counter-intuitive to the design process. Of course there are plenty of coding artists out there but we like a good short cut.
Elements, such as knobs and sliders, are dragged-and-dropped into position. You can then define the behaviour, minimum and maximum values, that sort of thing. Hit a button and it outputs the Kontakt-ready script. You can also create a library of scripts so you can re-use them at any time.
Kontakt GUI Maker looks to open up Kontakt instrument building to a wider community. There are a lot of people producing sample library in simpler formats and the impressive Kontakt interfaces are often out of reach. This looks to be a great way to create a more usable product with your sound designs.
It’s scheduled for release on the 1st October for $99.99. Pre-order now to save 50% on that.
