Charvel Jim Root San Dimas
The Jim Root Charvel San Dimas is coming!
The Charvel Jim Root San Dimas model we saw prototypes of last year have now been given an official release date and the full specifications are now available.
Charvel Jim Root San Dimas
These new Charvel Jim Root San Dimas are coming, at last, these signature San Dimas models have a mahogany body, contoured and with a scalloped lower back bout for better upper fret access. These guitars have a bolt-on maple neck with graphite reinforcement and a hand-rubbed satin urethane finish. The Satin Black model comes with a maple fretboard and the one in Satin White has an ebony fretboard instead.
I like that he went with Luminlay glow-in-the-dark side dots, as that makes playing on dark stages a lot easier.
Daemonum
The guitar comes with a pair of Jim Root’s signature EMG Daemonum humbuckers. These active pickups are wired in a minimal control layout that includes a three-way blade switch and a singular skirted Strat-style volume knob.
Black or White?
Hardware is all black for both colours and includes a Floyd Rose 1500 Series double-locking tremolo and a set of Charvel-designed locking tuners. These certainly look like they have had some nice tweaks to the San Dimas formula, and I can see them being popular. I love the Charvel necks and this tweaked San Dimas formula works very well in my opinion, so I am looking forward to trying one out when they come out.
The main question though is Black * or White * and can you hold out until August to buy one?
MSRP – USD 1499
