Cocked wah tones? Try the new Catalinbread Tribute Parametric Overdrive

The new Catalinbread Tribute Parametric Overdrive can distort more than just your guitar sound. It has a semi-parametric EQ installed, with which you can conjure up a fixed wah sound, and more, from the pedal.
Catalinbread Tribute
The Catalinbread Tribute is a what you might call a dynamic low to mid-gain overdrive. It even has the standard set of controls in a 3-controller layout consisting of volume, drive and tone. In addition, however, there is also a (semi-) parametric equalizer. Unfortunately, there is only one frequency control, which you can set the sweep frequency between 1.4 kHz and 70 Hz.
Cocked Wah?
It does an impression of that typical Cocked/Fixed Wah sound, or the currently in vogue out-of-phase tone can be conjured up from the pedal, if you prefer. Although, there is no way to control the frequency via the use of an external expression pedal. Adjustable filter quality or volume of the sweep are also missing, so it misses a few tricks. Even without these additions though, it has some nice tones on tap. In the demo videos below it comes across as pretty useable.
+18V
The Tribute circuit design uses an internal charge pump to boost the headroom to +18V from the standard 9V input. This is always a nice feature and should make for a quality overdrive pedal.
The pedal looks like it could do the job for a lot of players. However, I don’t think I would have any use for this particular feature set. But that’s probably because I’m one of those players that uses a wah pedal to get close to these types of drive tones in my rig. If you don’t use a wah pedal or a parametric EQ, this new Catalinbread Tribute could be perfect for you.
