Conjured Circuits JP6 Multimode VCF for your Moog Modular now available
Conjured Circuits has licensed the System80 Jove filter and brought it to the Moog Modular (MU) format so that big modular enthusiasts can enjoy that creamy Roland Jupiter-6 sound.
JP6 Multimode VCF
There’s always something awesome about the physical presence of 5U Moog Unit modules. And now they have a very musical and warm filter to play with in the shape of the JP6 Multimode VCF. It’s based on the Jove filter design from System80 which is one of my favourites filters. Originally announced late last year the JP6 Multimode VCF is now available to buy.
It has 4 modes with an additional 12 dB low pass which wasn’t on the Jupiter-6 but was found on the Jupiter-8 giving it a broader range of tones. It’s based around a cascaded Operational Transconductance Amplifier (OTA), using the LM13700 OTA in place of the obsolete Roland IR3109 quad OTA. There are 2 audio inputs with attenuation and 2 CV inputs for the Cutoff, one unipolar and one attenuverted. And then there’s also CV control over the Resonance.
It’s a shame they didn’t pull in any of the colour from the Jove filter as Moog modular does all follow the same look – but I guess that’s part of the attraction.
