dBdone is a free (for now) software for macOS and Windows from two Munich-based developers that helps you organise your DAW projects and get a grip on the chaos of managing countless music projects. With multiple projects and tight deadlines, it can be hard to keep track of your song files, audio data, production notes, mixes and collaborations. This is where the app comes in, providing a software solution that dramatically simplifies your music production workflow. And it’s now available in a free beta version.
Stay on top of things with dBdone: Organise your DAW projects effectively
The dBdone software supports most popular DAWs and provides a central platform for managing all your projects, links and files. You can open projects directly from the software’s dashboard without having to navigate through multiple folders. A particularly useful feature is the ability to listen to projects without having to start them from scratch in the DAW. You can simply record an important section of your project and play it back directly in the app, saving you a lot of time.
dBdone also offers an intuitive tagging system and a way to sort projects so you can find your files quickly and easily without having to search for them. DAW’s like Reason are already filled with bloat and spyware – enough is enough.
There’s always someone naive enough to jump on board though!
It looks nice and all, but it seems that it costs at least as much time to maintain as it saves. And also, people who are disorganised will be disorganised with this solution as well. Not to mention the what others said about possible intrusion.
