If you’ve ever created your own sample library, you know that batch processing a large number of files can be a huge time saver. But processing multiple files at once is also quite handy for mastering applications and any task that requires you to convert and process many files with the same settings.
Batch Pro 2 handles WAV, AIFF, and MP3 files. You can convert the file format, sampling rate (up to 192 kHz), bit depth (up to 32 bits), and mono to stereo or vice versa. The tool can also change the gain (-40 to +40 dB) and pitch (-24 to +24 semitones) and apply frequency shifting (+/- 1000 Hz). And there’s a pair of high pass and low pass filters for additional frequency shaping.
But that’s not all: Batch Pro 2 also allows you to set up a chain of up to eight VST or AU plug-ins, plus one master plug-in and one monitoring plug-in such as a meter or analyzer. All files in the batch are processed through the same chain of plug-ins, which can be very useful for mastering, audio restoration, or similar tasks.
Batch Pro 2 features a convenient file browser for loading files, which also includes a preview feature with or without processing. And needless to say, there’s a preset manager that allows you to set up various configurations for repeated processing.
If you’re often dealing with large numbers of audio files, a batch processor can make things much easier. With its simple user interface and the option to include plug-ins, Batch Pro 2 looks like a well thought-out solution.
