I’ll let you in on a little secret. I used to be a managing editor on a magazine that covered extreme car audio conversions. So when this story popped into the Gearnews email box from Hagerty, a global automotive enthusiast brand, this morning about a crazy bus up for auction, I knew I had to jump on it. This little beauty is a 1972 Volkswagen Type 2 bus that’s been chopped open to host a whole suite of DJ gear. You like the cars? The cars that go boom? Oh so do I.

DJ Bus: Denon DJ Inside

This Brazilian-built VW bus features a DJ booth inside complete with a hinged roof panel with gas shocks. Did somebody say raise the roof?

“This unique van has been transformed into a fully functional mobile DJ booth – featuring a hinged roof panel and equipped with a professional-grade sound system, lighting array, and a complete set of Denon DJ turntables and mixers,” says the listing.

The site reports that this bus was born in Brazil and then imported to the United States in 2021. Since then it’s been used for birthday parties, corporate events and – we assume – beach blowouts – in Miami Beach. From Brazil to South Beach? Talk about a party pedigree!
