DNAfx GiT Core: Compact Multi-FX pedal from Harley Benton
It’s not just Kemper who has seen the sign of the multi-effects times, Harley Benton is also releasing a compact version of their flagship multi-fx board. The DNAfx GiT Core is a downsized version of the Pro and Advanced multi-fx units with amp and cab emulations, plenty of pedal emulations and more.
DNAfx GiT Core: Let’s look at the numbers
As with all of these multi-effects units, one thing you can compare is the sheer number of pedals, amps, cabs and preset slots each one offers. The DNAfx Git Core offers 55 classic and modern amp models, 26 IRs, 151 pedal emulations (overdrives, distortions, noise gates, EQs, Wahs, Octavers, Filters, Reverbs, Delays, and more) and over 200 preset slots.
In addition, you can combine up to non effects in one presets, which should allow for pretty complex tones and quite the versatility in many genres. DNAfX GiT Core also offers tap tempo functionality, an 80-second phrase looper and an easy-to-read chromatic tuner (435 to 445 Hz).
Drum Machine, USB port and audio interface
Like the bigger, more expensive models in the DNAfx GiT series, the DNAfx GiT Core also includes a wide variety of drum patterns in its included drum machine—40. In addition, you can choose from ten different metronome rhythms. That’s a lot to get you going to practice at home.
The Core model also comes with a USB-C port to connect to your Mac or PC and easily create presets. It also comes with direct audio recording functionality, so you can record your guitar or bass through it and use it as an audio interface. In terms of I/O, you’ll get a headphone output (minijack), and aux input (mini jack) for using backing tracks or other audio sources, and expression input, and both a single guitar input and line output.
The DNAfx GiT Core also offers OTG functionality. That way, you can connect your smartphone or tablet to it and use it for audio recording or even live streaming! Compared to the bigger versions, the Core edition only weighs 800 grams, while the Advanded edition comes in at 1.3 kilograms and the standard edition at 1 kilogram. It is also considerably smaller, making it perfect for integrating on your pedal board. It might also be the more mobile solution for gigging around town.
What does the DNAfx GiT Core cost?
