Dove Audio has found a bunch of old Korg NJM2069 VCF/VCA chips and fashioned them into a new 5U Moog module. The chip was used in synths like the Poly800, DW8000 and DSS1.

They are calling it the D501 but also refer to it by the chip name to highlight the classic chip inside. This is not a clone or a reissue of the chip these are original chips snapped up from eBay and so offer the original Korg sound. It also means that it will be a rather limited run unless they can find some more.

There are controls for cutoff and resonance along with CV control and depth knobs plus VCA CV depth and gain. Although the original filter was usually used in 24dB mode it does have a 12dB mode which Dove Audio has brought to the front on a switch.

There’s nothing funny going on with this module, this is pure fat filter and VCA goodness.
