DrumBrute Impact: Arturia’s baby DrumBrute leaked
Arturia has a new drum machine poised for announcement. Leaked ahead of the official release this Thursday, DrumBrute Impact is a compact version of their popular DrumBrute muscle-bound drum machine. It may be smaller but there’s no doubt that this thing is going to pack a percussive punch every bit as powerful as its bigger brother and it’s reportedly going to be under 300 Euros. Now with video – see below!
DrumBrute Impact
While we wait on the official details, here’s what we know so far. There are 8 pads which probably indicates 8 drum sounds. There’s a kick, 2 snares, hi-hats, 2 toms, cymbal and an all-new FM voice which moves beyond the all-analogue nature of the original DrumBrute. It features a 64-step polyrhythmic 64-step sequencer with a bunch of performance controls. There’s swing, randomness, glitching, ratcheting, accents and our old friend the Arturia Roller strip. You can even record unquantised if you wish.
It loses the maracas, claves and zap of the DrumBrute and also most of the outputs. As far as we can tell there are 4 outputs – Kick, Snares, Hi-hats and FM Drum. It also has MIDI, USB and what looks like Sync in and out. Someone said that it has a Brute distortion built in which would be awesome and of course it retains the filter.
The DrumBrute is a decent performance orientated drum machine with a lot of creative control over the sounds and modulation. If DrumBrute Impact can retain the fun and usability then at this price it could do very well indeed.
More information as we get it. There will no doubt be a ton of videos and marketing happening tomorrow – we’ll just have to be patient.

It’s not polyrhythmic, it’s polymetric.
