Duesenberg debuts Dropkick Murphys signature guitar and bass
Dropkick Murphys' get signature guitar and bass
Fans of the Irish folk/punk/US rock’n’roll band Dropkick Murphys can look forward to a very special package. The new Duesenberg Dropkick Murphys Bass from the Alliance Series 2019 is not only a semi-hollow body bass with the logo of the band between the pickups, but also comes with a little surprise.
Duesenberg Dropkick Murphy’s guitar and bass
Designed in collaboration with Murphy’s guitarist Jeff DaRosa and bassist Ken Casey, these two semi-hollow body instruments have a few neat touches unique to these two instruments. Both are varnished in Catalina Green Burst and I think look really great with the distinct cream/off white binding.
While the electric guitar is equipped with Duesenberg Domino P90 on the neck and Grand Vintage humbucker in the bridge position, the bass has a pair of BassBucker Duo pickups. It looks like the controls have been placed as far away from the strings as possible.
Rose
Between the pickups, there is the band’s typical rose logo, also in green. I think it makes a nice change from the standard endorser signature you normally see on the headstock. Both instruments are limited to 96 pieces each. No official prices are available yet, but it should be in the four-digit range.
Certificate of Authenticity
With signature guitars, you usually see a certificate of authenticity. Duesenberg has come up with something special because there isn’t one, instead, you get a hockey puck signed by the Duesenberg CEO. The Dropkick Murphys are great hockey fans, so that’s sure to be a great collector’s item for fans. In addition, there is a goodie box for fans with T-shirt, a wooden stand for the puck (not the guitar) and picks, which also the band uses on their 2019 tour. Overall, it’s a nice package and a bit more interesting than just a plain piece of paper with a signature on.
