The new Afterneath V3 from Earthquaker Devices features 9 new Modes
Earthquaker Devices’ Afterneath V3 is an updated version of an already amazing boutique reverb effect, with 9 new onboard modes.
Earthquaker Devices Afterneath V3
The new Afterneath V3 from Earthquaker Devices is the latest version of its much-loved Afterneath reverb pedal. It features a completely analogue dry signal path, a completely digital reverb/delay path, the Earthquaker Devices buffered bypass with Flexi Switch Technology and a tails/no tails option.
In addition to new graphics, the Reflect and Drag controls have been swapped on this latest incarnation of the pedal, and a little Mode control added just under the Drag knob. This sets the mode for the now connectable expression pedal or CV source, allowing yet further manipulation of the reverb/delay.
Described as a pedal for creating ” cavernous reverbs, or scattered, short, rhythmic delays”
Expression & CV modes
The small Mode control switches between the following nine new reverb modes:
- Unquantized
- Unquantized with slew
- Unquantized volt/octave
- Chromatic scale
- Major Scale
- Minor Scale
- Pentatonic scale
- Octave/Quinten
- Octave
More new features
Other new features that EQD has added to the V3 version of the pedal are:
- Tails On/Off switch
- New advanced ‘Otherworldly Reverb’ algorithm
- Ranges from delay to atmosphere
- Relay footswitch
- Plus, those new graphics
Price and market launch
The new EQD Afterneath V3 is expected to hit stores in mid-April for $199.

Isn’t this a “Reverb” pedal?!
Bit of both according to EQD’s site “Upon further listening, it appears as though the reverberations of your voice are in fact a swarm of short digital delays “
