Silos Multi-Mode Delay

Known for their unique and feature-rich effects pedals, EQD takes a different approach with the new Silos delay pedal. This “Multi-Generational Time Reflection Device” focuses on practicality and usability, offering three distinct delay flavours guitarists use: digital, analogue, and tape.

Simple

Forget endless menus and confusing settings. The Silos keeps it simple with dedicated Mix, Time, and Repeats knobs to sculpt your ideal delay sound for each mode. Users can save presets on the pedal and assign them to the preset knob.

A simple three-position Mode switch chooses the delay type. The onboard tap tempo footswitch and expression control offer real-time manipulation of the delays via the Flexi-Switch technology. The Silos boasts six onboard presets readily accessible via the footswitch, allowing users to switch between delay types and settings during performance seamlessly.

Buffered Bypass & Control

A buffered bypass with tails ensures smooth transitions between effects. At the same time, the Flexi-Switch technology offers different activation options, such as holding for momentary mode or tapping for standard latching.

Users can also use any TRS expression pedal to control the Time, Repeats or Mix controls.

Verdict

I’m a big fan of the simple delay pedal, as when I’m playing live, I haven’t got the time to menu dive, so this new Silos pedal appeals to my need for simplicity and ease of use. It is certainly a well-priced pedal and comes in well under $200, which is very good for a boutique-style delay.

The standard competition here would be the Boss DD-3T, which is easy to find and offers a similar feature set for around the same price point. I like the sound of this new EQD pedal and would possibly take one over the Boss as an alternative, as that Flexi-Switch adds some nice touches.

It is certainly less complex than their recent Time Shadows II multi-delay pedal.

MSRP – USD 149
