EarthQuaker Devices has added user-definable presets to the Spatial Delivery V3 envelope filter. Making this already funky filter even more flexible.
Spatial Delivery V3
Designed for making funky filters, the Spatial Delivery V3 is, as the name suggests, EarthQuaker Devices’ third iteration of the voltage-controlled envelope filter pedal.
This latest update adds six user presets accessed via a rotary control, allowing users to access their presets without dialling in all the settings for each session. This makes this pedal much more useful for live and studio work.
Three Filter Modes
The three envelope filters include Up Sweep, Down Sweep, and Sample and Hold. These can then be adjusted to taste by tweaking the Range, Resonance, and Filter knobs. It’s all simple stuff, making this pedal a lot of fun to play with.
Expression
This little orange pedal packs in the features, which is part of its charm. If you need more control, attaching an expression pedal to control any parameter—it can be assigned to Range, Resonance, or Filter—will make this envelope filter even more fun. EarthQuaker’s Flexi-Switch technology also allows latching and momentary pedal action.
Verdict
Envelope Filters can be fun once you have found a few good settings. Therefore, saving six presets of your own choosing is a massive bonus. It saves twiddling knobs on a darkened stage or a during a busy studio session. EQD has made an excellent envelope filter even more musician-friendly by updating the design with this new feature.
