Yet another 250 released
The EarthQuaker Devices Sunn O))) LifePedal is back yet again for a limited run of 250 units worldwide. And it looks like it will be the last limited run, too. So if you missed out on the previous run, now’s your chance to grab one of these before they go into wider production.
Silver Life
EarthQuaker Devices Sunn O))) LifePedal Octave Distortion + Booster 2019 Silver has just been announced on Reverb.
The pedal is based upon the classic RAT LM308 “White Face” distortion pedal circuit. Two additional clipping options give the Life Pedal even more ways to work with gain. Then you get the first position, which is “No Diodes” which gives you an Op Amp assault at maximum volume. The second position of the circuit uses two silicon diodes and one LED in an asymmetrical clipping configuration. Both are fairly brutal and will pummel your amp hard.

The LifePedal has been causing quite a stir this year. Every time a limited run is released, it sells out almost immediately. The LifePedal often ends up being sold on for a lot more than the original asking price. It’s why these pedals are gaining quite some notoriety for being a bit of a cash grab. If you can get one, then chances are you can sell it for a good profit pretty quickly online. The original Black release sold out before most people had even heard of it.
According to a statement from EQD, this Silver version will be “a third and final limited edition”, with “250 pedals available”. Presumably it will then be mass in a standard, non-limited version. If you missed out on the last two releases, then here is your chance to get your hands on one. Don’t take too long ordering one or you will probably miss out. Just in case you have missed all the hype, you can hear the pedal in action below.
