EHX Double Anniversary Big Muff Pi limited edition in Gold
This massive gold '90s style Ram's Head Big Muff could be yours
These EHX Double Anniversary Big Muff Pi limited edition in Gold finish are celebrating the big box version of the classic guitar effect. Unfortunately, they all sold out in seconds.
Double Anniversary Big Muff Pi
The Electro Harmonix EHX Double Anniversary Big Muff Pi is a limited run of 555 pedals, which come in a gold finish and the ’90s Sovtek-era wooden box. Each pedal is laser engraved with a unique serial number and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
Ram’s Head
They use the Ram’s Head circuit in a Big Box full-sized Big Muff Pi case, so it will look like a massive block of gold on your pedalboard. As usual, the controls are Volume, Tone, and Sustain, which should be all you need with a Big Muff.
Sold Out? But, there is hope…
As I mentioned earlier in the article, they have already sold out worldwide. However, if you want to avoid scalpers on auction sites, then EHX has a competition running. The winner will win one of these luxurious-looking gold stompboxes and save paying a fortune for a scalped one. Follow the link below to sign up for the competition to win the last Gold Big Muff!
EHX will be at booth number 5244 for NAMM 2024 so they may have one left to look at
Failing that, you could buy a regular modern-day Big Muff and a can of gold spray paint, which would save you a small fortune. EHX makes some great versions, and below I have linked to a few of my favourites that are available from Thomann.

Quality issues! Sounds like a buzz saw. There is an issue with the screws Electro-Harmonix used on these “double anniversary” Big Muffs. They bind and will not unscrew. Tried replacing the battery and the screw just turns. One loose screw topside which I was able to fasten. Tone? Certainly not like my 70s Ram’s Head … just a noise box. I had much better tone results with a Wren and Cuff Caprid. There was a lot of hype when EHX announced these and the resellers started posting 4 figure prices. Those prices started dropping once musicians realized that the pedal does not live up to the hype. I agree with what one reviewer stated: “This is not actually a Ram’s Head circuit” …” Mine sounds like a buzz saw. Customer service? Just look at all the negative blogs out there.
