Electro-Harmonix Attack Decay Tape Reverse Simulator pedal: Demo sounds released
At last we get an official demo video for this new reissue of an '80s classic!
The new Electro-Harmonix Attack Decay Tape Reverse Simulator was announced during Winter NAMM and got everyone pretty excited. Now EHX has released the official demo video – and it sounds ace!
Electro-Harmonix Attack Decay Tape Reverse Simulator
I wrote about this pedal during Winter NAMM, but we had no audio demos back then. EHX has now released some sounds and the new Attack Decay Tape Reverse Simulator looks like it will live up to the hype.
The pedal is a reissue of the classic tape reverse simulator effect from the ’80s, just in a smaller more modern enclosure. It also comes with the ability to store presets, CV inputs and now has an in-built Harmonix fuzz too.
A wacky, creative tool?
It is effect pedals like these that make this American pedal brand such a well-loved company. It’s a little bit wacky, left-of-centre and has the ability to inspire new songs. Mike Matthews’ recent legal run-in with Mooer (he won a copyright piracy case against the Chinese company) goes to show just how innovative Electro-Harmonix are in creating new effects. Everyone tries to copy them!
Luckily for us, the New York-based company also has a rich history of effects to reissue and re-release, like this new Attack Decay. My advice: take a good listen to the official demo video below to hear it in action.
RRP – USD 125
