Electro-Harmonix launches new 15Watt Howitzer Class D amp-in-a-pedal
Class D amp and preamp in a pedal
Electro-Harmonix just launched a new amp in a pedal format. The 15Watt Howitzer offers players a portable guitar rig or even, perhaps, a neat backup solution. It even has its oown FX Loop for all your time-based effects.
Electro-Harmonix 15Watt Howitzer amp
Designed as a pedal format guitar amp with a built-in preamp section, the new Electro-Harmonix 15Watt Howitzer has a nice simple layout with knobs for Vol, Treble, Mid, Bass, Gain as well as a Norm/Bright toggle switch. The unit is designed to offer great guitar tones in a 15 Watt package, enough to drive most cabinets. The circuit uses a Class D amp design as it offers maximum output efficiency with minimal space requirements, fitting neatly into a pedal format.
“The thing I dig the most about the Howitzer is the great tone that emanates from it!” – Mike Matthews
FX Loop
What makes this little amp a very useful addition to players’ rigs is its built-in FX Loop. It’s a very welcome feature as it makes it a lot more flexible for many users. With the FX loop, you can put your favourite time-based pedals between the 15Watt Howitzer’s preamp section and Volume knob. Perfect for reverbs, delays, etc.
Power
The unit ships with its own power supply and the whole package is small enough to easily fit in your gig bag. I think for the money, this new Electro-Harmonix amp-in-a-pedal could be a great backup for when we all (hopefully) start gigging again.
RRP – USD 127.80
