Elektron Overbridge 2.0 closed beta sign-up – it might actually exist!
The arrival or existence of Elektron Overbridge 2.0 has been a bit of a running gag for some time now. It’s an awesome piece of software that connects Elektron hardware to your DAW and offers all sorts of fabulous features like audio streaming, instrument library and a software GUI.
Overbridge 2.0 beta
Currently, version 1 works with Analog Heat and Analog Keys. It’s been promised for all the hardware released since then – Analog Four MkII, Analog Rytm MkII, Digitakt and Digitone – but it’s never actually materialised making us believe that perhaps it’s just not going to work. However, with the announcement of the closed beta we can finally allow ourselves to get a bit excited about it.
If you have a bit of Elektron gear and would like to get in on the Overbridge action then you need to sign up over on the Elektron website. They say that Beta selection is completely manual and people will be selected depending on the hardware they own and the part they are wanting to test. A word of warning though, if you own one of the two devices that currently supports Overbridge 1 then using the beta will break compatibility with the old version.
Still no idea how far away an official release is but this does offer some hope at least for all that hardware that’s been annoyingly marketed with Overbridge as a key feature. Let’s hope it’s as awesome as it sounds and becomes something we can’t live without.
