Elite Acoustics Stompmix X6: A battery powered digital stompbox mixer
Need a portable mixer for street performances and singer/songwriter sessions? Take a look at the new Elite Acoustics Stompmix X6. It’s a 6-channel digital mixer with effects, that lets you store and recall mixer scenes with your feet.
Elite Acoustics claims that the Stompmix X6 is the world’s first digital mixer in a stompbox format. The company says that the X6 was developed for singer/songwriters and small groups who need the flexibility of switchable mixer scenes. It has a metal enclosure, which fits on your pedalboard or can be used as a stand-alone mixer. If you don’t have your hands free during a performance, this might be more practical than the internal mixer of a portable PA, or a traditional desktop mixer.
The Stompmix X6 features four mono mic/line inputs with class A preamps and phantom power, and a stereo line input. The first two inputs can also take instrument signals. On the output side, the X6 has a stereo XLR main output, a stereo 1/4″ aux output, and a 1/8″ headphone output.
Integrated DSP effects
Under the hood, the EAE Stompmix X6 features a 32-bit DSP engine. This gives you integrated effects like reverb, delay, chorus, and dynamics. A colour LC display lets you see and edit mixer settings. The mixer lets you store ten scenes, which you can recall using the foot switches. You can also stream music from your smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth, which is a convenient option for pre-recorded backing tracks or background music in between sets.
The Stompmix X6 is powered by a rechargeable 3300 mAh Lithium Iron Phosphate battery pack. According to EAE, the battery lasts for 4-6 hours of playing time on one charge. If that’s not enough, the battery pack is user-exchangeable, so you can switch batteries if you do really long sessions.
Price and availability
Elite Acoustics says that the Stompmix X6 will be available in August 2019. The company states a retail price of EUR 699 including VAT.
