Epiphone Adam Jones Les Paul Custom with art by the Austrian artist Ernst Fuchs named Anti-Laokoon 1965. The final installment of the Art Collction series of Silverburst signature models.
Epiphone Adam Jones Ernst Fuchs
The Epiphone Adam Jones Ernst Fuchs Les Paul Custom is the latest model in the Art Collection series of signature guitars. As with the previous versions, this model is also limited to only 800 guitars worldwide.
The series has featured five artists and this latest release is the latest model features artwork by Ernst Fuchs entitled Anti-Laokoon 1965. With a final guitar due that comes with a plain back, that we presume is next for release.
Art Collection
Previous models included the Korin Faught Senstation, which wasn’t as popular with fans and so is still available from some dealers.
Though, I think this latest model will sell well, as the artwork suits the Antique Silverburst colour scheme well.
Specifications
It comes finished in Antique Silverburst and has a mahogany body with a maple cap and a three-pice maple neck with an ebony fretboard. The guitar is based on Adam’s original 1979 Gibson Les Paul Custom, and has his custom neck profile.
Pickups
There is a reverse-mounted Epiphone ProBucker Custom humbucker in the neck position, paired with a Seymour Duncan Distortion pickup in the bridge position. It has then been wired using CTS potentiometers and Orange Drop capacitors.
Overall, they are great guitars (I owned the first Veil of Bees model) and feel similar to my original Norlin late-70s Gibson Les Paul Custom.
They also come in a very nice Epiphone Protector Case which is well made and will keep the guitar well protected.
You can currently get the Epiphone Adam Jones Les Paul Custom: Ernst Fuchs’ “ANTI-LAOKOON 1965” at Thomann (affiliate) for 1,599 euros.
