Epiphone Kirk Hammett 1979 Flying V
This Epiphone Kirk Hammett 1979 Flying V is styled on a late 70s Gibson, Norlin-era Flying V model. Available in Ebony and Purple Metallic finishes.
Specifications
It has a mahogany neck with a rounded C-profile with an Indian Laurel fretboard fitted with 22 medium jumbo frets. and a mahogany body.
The neck also has a Graphtech nut and the guitar is fitted with a set of Grover Rotomatic tuners, which should mean a solid tuning.
Custom Bridge
This Hammett signature model has a custom bridge, based on his original ’79 V and an Epiphone LockTone stop bar tailpiece. A fairly unique bridge for an Epiphone model and one that is specific to this signature guitar.
T-Type
It comes loaded with a pair of Gibson USA Calibrated T-Type humbucking pickups. The pickups are wired with Orange Drop capacitors and CTS potentiometers. Controls consist of era-correct dual volume controls and a master tone, along with a three-way pickup selector.
Ride The Lightning
This new more affordable signature Flying V is going to be popular, as it is based on the guitar that Hammett used on Kill ‘Em All, Ride The Lightning, and Master Of Puppets era of Metallica. A time that many Metallica fans would consider their best work.
Both models include a black hard case with a plush red lining

The Ebony model costs 1,499 euros from Thomann * or the Purple Metallic Thomann *.
