These Epiphone Modern Figured models include the Les Paul and the SG. Both are now available in two new finishes: Purple Burst and Mojave Burst.
Epiphone Modern Figured
The Epiphone Modern Figured Les Paul and SG are upgraded versions of the classic guitar styles. They each come with a figured top and modern updates, as the name suggests.
For 2024, Epiphone has introduced two new colours to the range, with Purple Burst and Mojave Burst joining the lineup.
Asymmetrical
Both guitars offer an Asymmetrical Slim Taper neck with a Contoured Heel Profile as part of the update to modern playability.
They also have ultra-modern weight relief for the Les Paul models to help keep them comfortable when playing. Epiphone hasn’t officially stated what weight you can expect, but I’m guessing they will be much lighter than standard models.
Construction
These Epiphone models feature a mahogany body, neck, ebony fretboard, and AAA-figured maple caps. The fretboards have 22 medium jumbo frets for the Les Paul model and 24 for the SG models. Both come with trapezoid inlays and a Graph Tech NuBone nut.
Hardware includes an Epiphone Locktone ABR bridge, a matching tailpiece, and a locking tuner set.
ProBucker
These two models each have a ProBucker 2 and a ProBucker 3 humbucker. They also have coil-splitting options via push/pull on the volume and phase switching on the tone control, giving players a variety of tones to choose from.
Verdict
These are ideal guitars for players who want classic Gibson looks with modern playability but are on a budget. Each colour helps the AAA-figured maple tops stand out nicely, and I’m sure many players will love the look.
They also have a premium gig bag included in the price, which is always a handy addition to a new guitar purchase.
