Epiphone Prophecy Flying V and Explorer teased by Gibson’s Cesar Gueikian
Fishman Fluence loaded models imminent
Gibson’s Cesar Gueikian has taken to Instagram to tease two new Epiphone models. This return of the Prophecy range features a new Flying V and an Explorer model, both loaded with Fishman Fluence pickups.
Epiphone Prophecy
Epiphone has been building some pretty amazing guitars the last few years. Like the Brent Hinds V that I bought and was very impressed by. According to Mr Gueikian, the new Epiphone Flying V and Explorer will come equipped with Fishman Fluence, a nod to the ‘heavier’ target group that’s being catered for here. Expect some great hard rock and metal tones from these guitars!
The Flying V has a black finish, whilst the Explorer has a rather understated Sunburst finish, which nevertheless looks pretty sweet on this body shape. It is nice to see something other than black on offer. Both models have white binding and seem to have block inlays with split V motifs.
The Epiphone Prophecy range launched back in 2008, so it is great to see them getting a re-vamp – especially with those Fishman Fluence pickups installed. Check out the little demo video below to hear them in action. Epiphone/Gibson hasn’t made any official announcements on the Epiphone website though. We will update you when we know prices and release dates for these two exciting new models.
