Epiphone updates its Emperor Swingster hollowbody models with metallic finishes
Perfect for all your rockabilly, country and blues/rock needs
Epiphone has updated its Emperor Swingster with some great looking new metallic finishes. The models are hollowbody constructions with Bigsby trems and some sweet pickups. If you’re looking for an affordable rockabilly axe, maybe this is one to consider?
Epiphone Emperor Swingster
The Epiphone Emperor Swingster models are hollowbody guitars that will be perfect for all your rockabilly, country and blues/rock needs. The construction features a five-ply maple body and a SlimTaper profile mahogany neck with an Indian laurel fretboard and block inlays. Epiphone has updated the model with new metallic colours which, I think will appeal to many players. They are now available in Forest Green Metallic, Delta Blue Metallic and Black Aged Gloss finishes. The green version gets gold hardware, which works very well I might add, while the other two colours have nickel hardware.
Swingbuckers
The guitar comes with a pair of Epiphone SwingBucker pickups, each with its own dedicated volume and tone control, and a three-way toggle switch. You also get some very handy push/pull switches which provide series/parallel switching for these pickups, making this guitar pretty versatile, which is always a nice thing.
Other hardware includes an Epiphone LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge on a pinned wooden bridge, and a licensed Bigsby vibrato with wire handle. The headstock sports a set of Grover Rotomatic tuners.
Overall, I love the style and the hardware choices, and the icing on the cake are these metallic finishes. I think they look really nice and suit the hollowbody construction well. I’m looking forward to hearing players’ reviews and feedback as soon as these hit the dealers.
