Epiphone Winter Collection in white – now with built-in beer opener!
Winter is coming
Winter is coming and Epiphone has just announced a slew of white Artist Signature models for the coldest season. And they have even managed to squeeze in a beer bottle opener!
All White
With new signature models for Tommy Thayer, Matt Heafy and Björn Gelotte, all of which are a stark bright white finish, you could go snow blind checking them all out. There are four new guitars, as Matt Heafy of Trivium is getting a 6- and a 7-string model with his name on.
Epiphone Ltd. Ed. Matt Heafy “SnØfall” Les Paul Custom Outfit
First up are the two Matt Heafy SnØfall models, both of which are based upon a Les Paul design and so the Trivium guitarist gets a 7 and 6 string version of this classic single-cut guitar design.
Silence in the Snow is the title of the Trivium album where the design for these two new models took their inspiration from and hence the SnØfall naming for them both.
Phenolic
Each one looks pretty exact and precise in that all-white finish. Both guitars are also loaded with white EMG pickups and have matching white Phenolic fingerboard to complement the Alpine White finish of the guitars.
I personally think the pricing is really good on both of these and I really do like the whole whiteout look of both these models myself, again for me proving that Epiphone can make some great looking instruments.
RRP – GBP £759 6-string and GBP £799 for the 7-string
Ltd Edition Björn Gelotte “Jotun” Les Paul Custom
Next, up there is the new Björn Gelotte “Jotun” Les Paul Custom which has some very interesting features. The In Flames guitarist has opted for a more traditional (not quite as white) Les Paul Custom design for his signature model which is named Jotun.
Bottle opener
The guitar is finished in Bone White and is loaded with a set of EMG “Metalworks” Active pickups. With a mahogany body and an ebony fingerboard, it’s all classic LP Custom design and it is also fitted out with Grover Roto-matic tuners.
I love that it also features a stainless steel bottle opener on the rear of the guitar as well! Handy if you get parched and need to quench your thirst mid-solo.
RRP – GBP 759
Tommy Thayer ‘White Lightning’ Explorer
Kiss guitarist Tommy Thayer is last up and he is getting a cool new all-white Explorer. The model has a Custom Metallic White finish and comes loaded with a pair of Seymour Duncan JB Humbuckers and has a set of Grover Rotomatic tuners.
RRP – GBP 719 including custom case
