Erica Synths Pico Drive: wavefolding overdrive packed into 3HP
The latest module in Erica Synth’s Pico range is the Pico DRIVE that folds waves into overdrive with 3 knobs, 4 patch sockets and a whole lot of bad attitude.
DRIVE
Pico modules tend to be simple to use while punching well above their 3HP size and the Pico DRIVE fits right into that idea. Turn the Drive knob and the input signal is pushed into boost. Gain pushes it further and an inbuilt limiter starts to fold the signal back on itself releasing warm overtones and harmonics. That’s it! Fat overdriven, wavefolded waveforms that are a perfect way to add a dose of bad-ass to your Eurorack.
But it’s also CV controllable so you can start sweeping the folds or adding tremolo to the overdrive or ramping things up with an envelope. The limiter keeps the DRIVE from clipping meaning that the signal is always rich and usable. It’s a harmonic playground for sine waves, a modulating mover for complex waves and sort of sound your kick drums have been searching for.
Yep, simple, good sounding, hardly takes up any space and €90.
