Ernie Ball Earthwood Bell Bronze: John Mayer’s New Acoustic Strings
Get the blues into your acoustic guitar!
Warm, warmer, Bell Bronze! According to the manufacturer, the new Ernie Ball Earthwood Bell Bronze strings for acoustic guitars are the warmest-sounding in their portfolio to date. They are produced using a new manufacturing process.
Ernie Ball Earthwood Bell Bronze

The new Ernie Ball Earthwood Bell Bronze strings are wound with bell bronze wrap wire. The manufacturing process is based on a method used to produce drum cymbals. The material and production method are designed to deliver a particularly bell-like, round sound.

Ernie Ball developed these new strings in collaboration with blues-rock giant John Mayer. Mayer is best known for his soulful licks and solos on the electric guitar. With the new Bell Bronze strings, you can create similar, Strat-like bell sounds on acoustic guitars.

Four Gauges
If you want to experience this particularly full-sounding tone, Ernie Ball Earthwood Bell Bronze offers four string gauges: 10, 11, 12, and 13. According to the manufacturer, these strings breathe new life into old guitars.

Thanks to the patent-pending alloy, EB has been able to further improve sustain, projection, and the density of overtones compared to the other series in the catalog. Compared to the 80/20 and Phosphor Bronze series, the new strings sound fuller and bigger without sounding dull or dark.
Overall, the Bell Bronze strings are closer to the 80/20s in terms of treble, but they sound even warmer and more expressive in the lower frequencies than the Phosphor Bronze series.

How Much Do The New Strings From Ernie Ball Cost?
You can now get all four sets of strings at Thomann*. To mark their launch, they are available at a reduced price of 13.90 euros per pack, ten percent off the RRP of 15.50 euros.
