Error Instruments: VELIX, the sonic shaper
The latest noise machine from the Error Instruments house of madness is an organic touch texture feedback synthesizer called VELIX. Grab hold with both hands and let’s play.
VELIX
VELIX blends an analog sound engine with digital effects in a touchy-feely synthesizer that demands interaction. The sound is generated when you lay your fingers on the touch plates. Different tones emerge as you move your fingers and handle different plates.
There are four big knobs that do something or other to the synthesizer parameters while the knob in the centre is to do with the effects.
You can use the effects in VELIX separately via an FX input and then play along with the touch synth.
Like all Error Instrument devices it looks like a lot of fun to play with and could keep you entertained for hours coming up with new alien soundscapes and deep organic sounds. The whole thing looks completely amazing and I am loving the metal touch plates and design.
