Eventide Blackhole extraterrestrial reverb now offers full NKS integration
Back in NAMM Native Instruments announced that their NKS control format will start supporting effects plug-ins as well as instruments. That support arrived with the Komplete Kontrol 2 software that was released last week. Eventide has started the ball rolling with their support of the format by releasing an NKS compatible version of their Blackhole Extraterrestrial Reverb.
Blackhole
Along with the update comes a new GUI to bring it in line with the other H9 plugins. Blackhole creates virtual spaces that give instruments an space age quality whether you are looking for serene reverbs or mind-altering effects. The ribbon control and Hotswitch give you creative access over a number of parameters simultaneously.
The algorithm used in Blackhole first came from the DSP4000 rackmount reverb unit and carried on into the H8000FW. It then more recently appeared in the Space stompbox so it’s really done the rounds and is largely loved wherever it finds itself. This plug-in version offers that reverb goodness to space wanderers on whatever platform they find themselves and the NKS support gives fast access and easy integration. The GUI is also multi-touchable for those of us using touch screens with computer music making.
NKS allows you to load Blackhole directly from the Komplete Kontrol hardware. You can drop it into the signal chain after any instrument. All the knobs and controls are automatically mapped to the knobs and buttons on your Komplete Kontrol keyboard or compatible Maschine controller.
Blackhole for NKS is available now for a special price of $69 until the end of May. It’s a free update to existing owners.
