Eventide Riptide combines Uni-vibe and Drive in one pedal
Four Effects: 2 Overdrives, 2 Uni-Vibes
The Eventide Riptide is the latest effect pedal from the brand and combines a Uni-vibe and Drive into one compact stereo pedal format.
Eventide Riptide
This new Eventide Riptide pedal is the latest effect in a series of pedals that includes the TriceraChorus, Rose, and the UltraTap Delay, etc
Therefore this pedal format should be recognisable to any fans of Eventide pedals from the last few years.
Two Effects
It combines a Uni-Vibe and a Drive into this compact pedal format, so users get two effects in one. Riptide features two distinct voices for each effect, all available in stereo.
Four Effects: 2 Overdrives, and 2 Uni-Vibes, not bad.
Each side of the effect has its own dedicated footswitch to engage it with.
Elsewhere there are controls for Vibe, Speed, Intensity and Drive, Tone, Level for each side of the effect. Plus, users have a button for setting the order of the effects.
Presets
As with the previous Eventide pedals, this one also has five presets that can be stored by the user and accessed by toggling through the LEDs on the left side of the unit,
More presets are available with Eventide Device Manager software.
The rear panel has a handy Guitar/Line Level switch, and as I mentioned earlier the pedal is capable of stereo out if required.
Control
It also has an expression pedal input and uses can map any combination of parameters to an expression pedal. Plus, it has MIDI capability over TRS or USB, so there are plenty of ways to control this pedal.
Verdict
It looks like this could be a handy pedal to own if you need both the Uni-Vibe and Drive sides of the effect. However, you may already have one side of this covered already.
The demos below give a good indication of what to expect and it sounds pretty impressive.
