If you’ve been intrigued by Fender’s hybrid guitar series, Acoustasonic, but the Player Series was still too pricey, look closer. Their newly introduced Acoustasonic Standard models bring much of the more expensive range at a much more affordable price. There are Telecasters and three Jazzmasters in the release!

Acoustasonic Standard: Telecaster models for under 700 euros!

It’s all pretty standard with Fender these days. Similar to their re-introduced Standard series, the guitar maker is also introducing a trimmed-down version of the Acoustasonic series, the Acoustasonic Standard. In this case, they’ve opted for different woods and fewer electronics.

Visually, however, these new models look very similar to the more expensive iterations. The move is a big surprising in that there really is no competition for these hybrids. But one can only applaud greater financial accessibility for any musical intrument. And Acoustasonics have been hugely popular since their release in 2019!

New Wood Types, New Pickups

Fender has worked with different wood types for the Standard series. The top is solid Sitka spruce, and the body and neck are made of Nyatoh, a wood that offers stability and a pleasant playing feel. Both T-models and Jazzmasters have rosewood fretboards.

Each model comes in three colors: Aged Natural, Money Burst, and Black. In addition, A new, slightly simpler pickup system is built into the Acoustasonic Standard models. The Acoustasonic Shawbucker provides clear tones associated with the electric guitar sounds, while the Fishman Undersaddle Transducer amplifies the acoustic signal.

Operation is extremely simple. The new models feature an intuitive master volume control and a blend control that allows you to set the desired mixing ratio between the pickup signals and the transducer. This control allows for fine-tuning of the sound, making it possible to combine acoustic and electric sounds seamlessly.

All I want to know is if the battery has increased play time. The previous models all suck down the battery and make a 2fer gig day a pain

The California, Mexico and Indonesia made models looks exactly the same, you can’t tell where are they from from just looking at the guitars, the electronics are also not so far away, yet they have such different price points. There is no reason to buy the AM one for 1800, when you can get the Indonesa for 650. Also, for me the Standard Teles in natural or black colours are the most beautiful of them all.
