Fender adds new models to its California Traditional acoustic series
New Malibu, Newporter and Redondo models
Fender has just announced nine new acoustic guitar models. The guitar giant has expanded its California Traditional series with three distinct models spread across three different editions.
Fender California Traditional
Fender has been busy this week with a shedload of releases, including new Road Worn guitars, new Tone Master amps, and even new Mini Squier models. But the company has also been working on some new unplugged instruments. These new acoustic models are part of its California Traditional series, which is further divided into Classic, Special, and Player editions, with new Malibu, Newporter, and Redondo models for each.
Classic, Special and Player Editions
The Classic and Special edition models both have tilt-back headstock designs for increased sustain, and use solid tonewoods throughout their construction, including solid mahogany back and sides. The Classic editions feature solid spruce tops and come in an Aged Cognac Burst finish, whilst the Special edition models have mahogany tops and come in a Natural finish.
Player edition models have solid spruce tops with mahogany backs and sides, and mahogany necks. Hardware includes GraphTech nuts and saddles. These models come with a pickguard, and are available in either a Sunburst or Natural finish.
All models come with a slim-taper “C”-shaped profile neck, inspired by the company’s electric legacy, and a 6-in-line headstock.
Malibu
The Malibu model is a small-bodied, short-scale acoustic with quartersawn scalloped X bracing.
RRP – USD 429.99 – 799.99
Newporter
Slightly larger, the Newporter model is a mid-sized acoustic, also with quartersawn scalloped X bracing.
RRP – USD 429.99 – 799.99
Redondo
The Redondo model is a regular, dreadnought-sized instrument, and once again, features quartersawn scalloped X bracing.
RRP – USD 429.99 – 799.99
These new California Traditional models will hit stores by August 13. And with nine different models at various price points, there should be something for everyone. You can follow the link below for more details.
