The Fender Aerodyne Special range is a revamped set of instruments made in Japan. The updated series includes the Stratocaster, and Telecaster, plus both P and J bass models, all in with new colour options.

Fender Aerodyne Special

This new Fender Aerodyne Special range comes in various formats with two Stratocaster models, one HSS, and the other SSS, plus, a Telecaster. Then there is a Precision Bass and Jazz Bass model as well. All the models come with a Babicz Z-Series FCH bridge system and feature basswood bodies across the ranges. The new range is due out at the end of October 2022.

Fender Aerodyne Special Stratocaster

Available in either Bright White and Chocolate Burst with a rosewood fretboard, or California Blue with a maple fretboard. These SSS Stratocaster models feature a basswood body with direct-mounted single-coil pickups. The Aerodyne Special Stratocaster model has a 12″ radius fretboard across all the models. With either black or white Pearloid dot inlays and 22 medium jumbo frets.

2-Point Trem

As it is a Strat, it has the Babicz Z-Series FCH-2 Point tremolo system. Hardware is chrome throughout and includes those stand-out skirted control knobs. The pickup controls are the standard five-way switch, Master volume and two Tone controls. The pickups themselves are Aerodyne Special single-coils in all three positions.

Fender Aerodyne Special Stratocaster HSS

If you prefer a humbucker in the bridge position, then the Aerodyne Special Stratocaster HSS is probably the model for you. This model pairs two Aerodyne Special single-coils with an Aerodyne Special humbucker.

New Colours

The specifications are the same as the SSS version above. Just this model is offered in Dolphin Gray Metallic with a rosewood fretboard, or Hot Rod Burst and Speed Green Metallic with a maple fretboard.

This Aerodyne Special Telecaster follows the same formula as the two Stratocaster models above. Once again, this model is available in either California Blue, Dolphin Gray Metallic or Hot Rod Burst finishes.

Hardtail

Being Telecasters, these have the Babicz Z-Series FCH-Tele bridge. Plus a set of vintage-voiced Aerodyne Tele single-coils controlled by master volume and tone controls and a three-way selector switch.

Fender Aerodyne Special Precision Bass and Jazz Bass

The Aerodyne Special Precision Bass and Jazz Bass models both use the Babicz Z-Series FCH-4 bridge. Then the P Bass gets the Aerodyne Special Precision Bass pickup, with tone and volume controls. Whilst the Jazz Bass has the newly designed Jazz Bass middle and bridge single-coils the usual three Jazz Bass control knobs.

Both models feature a bound basswood body and C-profile maple neck with a 12″ radius fretboard.

Colours

The Aerodyne Special Precision Bass is available in Bright White, Hot Rod Burst and Speed Green Metallic finishes. Whereas the Aerodyne Jazz Bass comes in California Blue with a maple fretboard or  Chocolate Burst and Dolphin Gray with a rosewood fretboard.

    It’s weird that fender hates making money so much. Boomers want vintage looks. Gen X wants vintage looks. Millenials want vintage looks. Zoomers want vintage looks (but with kooky colors.)
