Fender doubles up with new Duel Pugilist and Dual Marine Layer pedals
Twice the fun!
Fender has taken its Pugilist Distortion and Marine Layer Reverb, and doubled them both. Yup, that’s two Pugilists and two Marine Layers, each in their own single housing. So now you get even more options and twice the fun!
Duel Pugilist
The wittily named Duel Pugilist (rather than dual, as it’s a fighter) has the same voicing for the distortion as the original. But unlike the original, now you have three combinations available including Series, Mute and Parallel. There’s also a two-band master shelving EQ to control the lows and highs.
Modes
Series stacks the two distortions, while Parallel mode allows for the blending of two different distortion tones, or you can have a clean sound with a distorted one. Finally, Mute mode adds the ability to use one distortion to create your main tone and then layer a second distortion over the top.
RRP – USD 229.99 / GBP 179.99 / EUR199.99.
Dual Marine Layer Reverb
The new Dual Marine Layer Reverb comes with two independent foot-switchable settings, plus three reverb algorithms. And now you have a sustain switch to generate what Fender describes as “massive atmospheric creations.”
You can use the double-footswitch function switches to go between two sets of controls for damping, time, modulation, and level.
RRP – USD 229.99 / GBP 194.99 / EUR 219.99
