Fender Gary Moore Stratocaster finally released!
The 2016 Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition Gary Moore signature Stratocaster, has finally been officially released.
Scheduled for worldwide release on the 20th of May, this elusive guitar model has been an ongoing rumour all this year. Allegedly, only 60 guitars will be built by Fender Custom Shop Master John Cruz. In order to document Gary’s original instrument down to the last detail, Fender even flew him to the UK.
Fender claim, that this replica is super accurate with all the wear-marks and ageing associated with Gary’s much loved 1961 Fiesta Red Stratocaster. It won’t be cheap and will probably be very hard to get as well. But as John Cruz is a self-proclaimed Gary Moore fan, I hope it will be a labour of love, with a high level of workmanship. He has a great reputation for his replica work – and in the photo below he looks quite pleased with the results. The guitar’s pickups are Cruz’s own “Bonetone” design by the way, hand wound by Josefina Campos.
