Fender Japan Traditional Stratocaster Reverse Head limited run
New limited run reverse headstock Strat for Japan
These new Fender Japan Traditional Stratocaster Reverse Head limited run models all come with a classic vintage look and a reverse headstock. Designed specifically for the Japanese market, yet another great looking model that hopefully may break out into the rest of the world.
Traditional Stratocaster Reverse Head
This Fender Traditional Stratocaster Reverse Head is a limited run model for the Japanese market. The marketing even states specifically that these have a narrower nut width of 1.615″/41.02 mm, making it easy for Japanese players to play.
Reverse Headstock
Each one has a gloss Sunburst urethane finished alder body paired with a maple 9.5″ radius “U” shape maple neck fitted with 21 vintage style frets and that reversed headstock.
Gold Hardware
They come with gold hardware that includes a classic Fender 6 saddle vintage-style Synchronized Tremolo and a set of Vintage-Style Single-Coil Strat pickups. Along with an anodised pickguard and a set of eggshell coloured plastics for the control knobs, tremolo arm tip and the pickup covers.
Pickups are a set of three Fender Japan Vintage-Style Single-Coil Strat models with a traditional Strat control layout. The guitar comes in a Fender deluxe gig bag, which considering the price is not exactly high, is fair enough.
Japan
I like reverse headstock Strats and have owned a few myself over the years. They have a slightly different feel and the extra string length behind the nut can be used for subtle string bends. These are good looking guitars and quite traditional in many ways, which should appeal to a lot of guitar players.
Plus, a touch of the Hendrix-vibe here with that reverse larger late ’60s style headstock. The closest thing currently outside of Japan is the Hendrix * model itself.
Once again, Fender Japan seems to get the more interesting guitar releases, though I have seen some of the models occasionally make it into the EU, so you never know. These could pop up outside the Japanese market if you look hard enough.
MSRP – YEN 148,500
