Fender limited edition Joe Bonamassa ‘59 Twin-Amp finally available!
Super limited reissue of a very powerful Tweed Twin
Fender has just announced a new limited edition signature Joe Bonamassa ‘59 Twin-Amp. The best thing is that the model is available as early as next week directly from Joe’s own website. We first heard of these back in 2017 and now they are finally being released!
Joe Bonamassa ‘59 Twin-Amp
This “high-powered” ‘59 tweed Twin-Amp will be an exclusive model available via Joe’s own website from 4th April. It’s essentially a hand-wired reissue of the 1959 model that until now has not been made since the original version, based around an 80-watt Fender 5F8A circuit.
It incorporates a set of three 12AX7 preamp valves and four 6L6 output valves. Expect Fender to choose some decent quality valves for this.
The amp is built around a hand-wired eyelet traditional circuit board layout and also has ’50s vintage-style yellow paper-foil-resin tone capacitors, so stays as very close to the original amps. It also features a Mercury Magnetics output transformer that feeds two 12” Celestion JB85 speakers.
Tweed Twin
This model features both Bright and Normal channels with high and low-gain inputs. That’s what you would expect from a Twin amp. It’s housed in a traditional solid finger-joined pine cabinet that is finished in vintage tweed. The amps full specifications should be appearing soon on Mr Bonamassa’s website and so I have left the link below for you to check out.
Mr Bonamassa’s Portfolio…
Mr Bonamassa has a hell of a lot of ‘Signature’ products and is the source of much derision for many guitarists because of this large portfolio of Bonamassa-branded guitar items. But this one appears on paper to be kind of cool and I can see it appealing to gearheads as much as collectors, but it isn’t exactly cheap!
RRP – USD 3499
