Fender Limited Edition Saint Laurent Collection: $12,500 Strat!
Designer Stratocaster limited run with a matching amp and plectrums
The Fender Limited Edition Saint Laurent Collection consists of an all-black Stratocaster and a matching ’65 Deluxe Reverb, plus some custom guitar picks. These are not exactly affordable but are aimed very much at collectors and fashionistas.
Limited Edition Saint Laurent Collection
Fender has now teamed up with Saint Laurent and together they have just revealed the new Limited Edition Saint Laurent Collection.
“Saint Laurent is one of the most celebrated luxury brands in the world and an influential powerhouse in fashion culture. We are honoured to partner with them to infuse iconic elements from both of our legacy roots in this beautiful ‘Limited Edition Saint Laurent’ collection.” – Executive Vice President Justin Norvell
All Black
It includes the Saint Laurent Stratocaster that has an alder body and a maple ‘60s Oval C-shape neck.
Specifications also include a flat-laminated ebony 9.5” radius fretboard fitted with 21 medium jumbo frets. Plus, three hand-wound lipstick-covered ‘60s Fender single-coil pickups, with standard Strat controls.
The guitar is covered in an all-over gloss black urethane finish and has a black painted, 1-ply phenolic pickguard.
Everything is black except the Saint Laurent print in silver that can be found behind the guitar’s bridge. Along with a Fender Custom Shop logo on the rear of the headstock.
Limited Edition
There are only going to be 10 examples made and they are priced at $12,500 each. Each guitar comes in a matching all-black Saint Laurent hard case plus a certificate of authenticity.
Saint Laurent ‘65 Deluxe Reverb
A matching Saint Laurent ‘65 Deluxe Reverb is also being produced that has the Saint Laurent logo on the front.
Though the amp is priced at a slightly more reasonable $3000, which is roughly twice the standard price for a ’65 Deluxe Reverb.
Saint Laurent Plectrums
A set of six Saint Laurent plectrums features two black, two white, plus two chequerboard picks and they come in a collector’s tin and are a mere $32 a set.
Verdict
This model is very much like the Supreme Stratocaster from 2017, which was another limited-run collaboration with a fashion brand.
I personally have zero interest in guitars like this one, as they aren’t offering anything new that I can use as a musician.
Though, I do understand that they are aimed at a specific market, those that love collectable, exclusive items and anyone interested in fashion brands.

One response to “Fender Limited Edition Saint Laurent Collection: $12,500 Strat!”
This has been reported on many guitar sites, and frankly, should not be. I’m a bit ashamed for Fender on this one.
