Fender Player Series Silverburst HH Telecaster released in Europe!
Fender has just announced a very nice-looking new Player Series Silverburst HH Telecaster for the European market. Previously, this model was available through only a few select US dealerships. Now this delectable finish finally makes its way over to Europe.
The return of the Silverburst
Silverburst guitars are enjoying a bit of a renaissance of late. Fender recently started offering this finish as an option in its ‘Build Your Own‘ Mod Shop. Meanwhile, Gibson teamed up with Adam Jones of Tool for a signature Les Paul Custom slated for later this year, also in the same finish. That guitar is based on his vintage Norlin-era model.
Player Series Silverburst HH Telecaster
The Player Series Silverburst HH Telecaster is finally reaching European shores! Previously, this model was only available through US dealers on last year’s Black Friday sales. And although you can now pre-order a second run from Guitar Center, these again, are exclusive to US customers only. So it is refreshing to see that Fender has at long last seen the light and made the model more readily available across the pond.
Hard Rock Twang
The guitar has an alder body – in a stunning Silverburst finish – and a 22 fret maple neck with a Pau Ferro fretboard. It’s loaded with a pair of Alnico II Player humbuckers with coil taps that run through a familiar Tele-style control layout.
Specifications
- Alder body with Silverburst gloss finish
- Two Player Series Humbucker pickups with coil tap via push/pull tone
- ”Modern C”-shaped neck profile
- 9.5″-radius fingerboard
- String-through-body bridge with bent-steel saddles
With a tentative UK street price of £569, I would consider this a bit of a bargain. If you’re a fan of the Silverburst finish and are in the market for a twin-humbucker Telecaster, then head down to your nearest Fender Authorised dealer and order yourself one!
