Fender is introducing the new Fender Standard series, a range of Strats, Telecasters, and basses that looks to be their most affordable series to date.
Fender Standard Series: The Best Beginner Guitars?
While Fender’s own Squier brand has been massively successful, there has long been this gap between the sub-400 euro entry-level models and the 800+ euro Player series. The new Fender Standard Series aims to fill this gap with Strats, Teles, and many other models!
Let’s start with a couple of Tele models. These come with a poplar body, a bolt-on maple neck (Modern C) and maple fretboard with 21 Medium Jumbo frets. Electronics include two Player Standard Tele Single-Coils with a three-way switch, and controls for master tone and master volume.
Standard Strats and HSS models
Of course, the new Fender Standard Series also includes a huge number of Stratocaster models. The standard models also come with a poplar body and a bolt-on maple neck (Modern C), but here, the fretboard (9.5″ radius) is made of Indian laurel, also with 21 Medium Jumbo frets. Each model comes with Standard 2-point tremolo with satin chrome steel block saddles and Fender Standard Cast/Sealed machine heads with hex buttons.
Regarding electronics, these models come with three Standard Strat Single Coils, a five-way switch to switch and combine, controls for master volume, and two tone knobs. In addition, new HSS strats are also part of the Fender Standard Series. Besides the different pickup setups, these are identical to the normal starts at a slightly higher price.
Fender Standard Series: Jazz Bass and P-Bass
As much as I’m not an actual bass player (I jam occasionally), I wholeheartedly applaud the number of Fender Standard Series bass models. More often than not, these seem like afterthoughts in new series, but in this range, Fender is really going all in. Regarding the wood types, these models also consist of a poplar body, maple neck and fretboard (34″ scale), 20 Medium jumbo frets, and Chrome hardware.
The Jazz Bass models come with two Standard Jazz Bass single coils (bridge and neck), with separate volume controls and a global tone control. In comparison, the P-Bass models include Indian Laural on the fretboard, and the Standard Split Single Coil Precision Bass for the pickup.

LOL. Looking at the Strat – we get a Squire Classic Vibes with Affinity Pickups and a Fender head stock? and this for an extra of 200 Bucks?
