Fender Tom DeLonge Starcaster – Semi-Hollow Pop Punk
The Fender Tom DeLonge Starcaster joins the Blink-182 guitarist’s signature models and follows on from the reissue of his Stratocaster model last year.
Fender Tom DeLonge Starcaster
This is the second reissue of a Tom Delonge guitar from Fender. This time, it is the semi-hollow Starcaster model with a single bridge humbucker, the Seymour Duncan SH-5 Duncan Custom. This latest model is available in four finishes on launch: Shell Pink, Olympic White, Surf Green, and Shoreline Gold.
It has the same stripped-back utilitarian setup as his Strat, with a single Seymour Duncan humbucker controlled by a master volume control with a treble bleed circuit.
Semi-Hollow
It uses a semi-hollow laminated maple with a centre block paired with a bolt-on roasted maple Modern C profile neck with a rosewood fretboard, 22 medium jumbo frets, and a large Fender Strat-style headstock.
It comes with a custom Tom DeLonge neck plate and signature headstock decal. Overall, it is a nice take on the 1970s Starcaster design, and being so basic it should have a pretty huge tone.
Indonesian
They are made in Indonesia, which will put some people off, as we have come to expect Mexican or USA-made Fender models. However, the four colour options available on launch are the nice thing about these new signature models.
Verdict
At an official MSRP of $1199.99 each, these Tom DeLonge Starcaster instruments will have to be well-made guitars, as many expect to pay less for an Indonesian-made guitar in 2024.
It is undoubtedly a guitar for Blink-182 fans and is much more affordable than previous Fender Custom Shop models. This could make this new signature model sell like proverbial hotcakes.
The Fender Tom Delonge can be ordered at Thomann in Olympic White, Shell Pink, Surf Green, and Shoreline Gold.

One response to “Fender Tom DeLonge Starcaster – Semi-Hollow Pop Punk”
As a loyal Fender player and collector, I state with conviction that these are Squiers. No-one, not even Fender, can convince me otherwise unless they show me the factory Fender has opened and runs in Indonesia.
