We saw Fender tease its Fullerton Ukulele Series during Winter NAMM earlier this year, and now it has been officially released. The six new choices are based on three iconic Fender designs and come with onboard preamps!

Fullerton Ukulele Series

The Fender Fullerton Ukulele Series comes in classic Tele, Jazzmaster and Strat shapes, and with their four-in-a-line headstocks and no-tie bridges should be a lot of fun to play. Each of the three styles comes with a laminated spruce top, a maple neck, and a laminated walnut fingerboard.

Onboard Preamp

All models have an onboard Fender-designed preamp with volume and tone controls. There’s also a really useful built-in tuner, for when you want to drop tune and go off-road with your mega technical metal riffs. Joking! …Or am I?

Love them or hate them

I’ve always hated ukuleles with a passion, but I have to say the offset Jazzmaster design is kind of cute. Maybe it’s time for me to start up my Ukulele Alternative Rock project?

Offset is the best!

Each shape comes in a choice of two colours. The Telecaster ukulele is available in either Butterscotch Blonde or Black, the Stratocaster shape in Three-Tone Sunburst or Black, and the Jazzmaster design is available in Olympic White or Tidepool finish options. Yeah, I’d go for the Tidepool Jazzmaster myself. It’s a sweet colour and I like offset guitars.

Simple and effective

I think these mini-Fenders look well thought out, and if they are well made, could be a viable instrument for many guitarists. I’m also a fan of the simple no-tie bridge and the onboard preamp/tuner makes these instruments a lot more player friendly, which is always a good thing.

What do you think of these Fender-shaped ukuleles? Which one would you get? Let us know in the comments section below.

    Hm.
I have a sunburst Strat. And a butterscotch Tele. And a blue Jazzmaster.

Seriously tempted to buy a matching ukulele for each to enhance the display when they are all on their stands.
(And yes, I will play them too.)

    “Do you play guitar?”
    “A little.”

My several-months-old Fullerton Tele’s preamp completely died already. The Fender-certified tech at Guitar Center is dumbfounded that there are no replacement units available this side of Fenders new Chinese plant. I am very disappointed.
