Fender’s American Acoustasonic Jazzmaster gets an official release
New offset acoustic model with Acoustasonic Shawbucker
The Fender American Acoustasonic Jazzmaster leaked back in February has been officially released today. This latest model in the American Acoustasonic range boasts a few updated appointments, such as the added Tim Shaw-designed humbucking pickup which you can blend into the mix.
Fender American Acoustasonic Jazzmaster
The new offset Fender American Acoustasonic Jazzmaster model features a Tim Shaw-designed Acoustasonic Shawbucker alongside the Fender and Fishman under-saddle transducer, and a Fishman Enhancer body sensor. These three pickups can then be combined to give you possibly the fullest sounding model in the range yet.
Five-Way Switch
This new model has plenty of tonal options for you to play with. There are ten different voices on offer here, selectable via the Jazzmaster’s five-way switch. Players can then take the A and B voices for each of the five positions and blend them together with the guitar’s Mod control.
Acoustasonic Shawbucker
The Tim Shaw-designed Acoustasonic Shawbucker has Semi-Clean and Overdriven Voices in position 1. The other four positions have acoustic guitar tones. These include a Mahogany Jumbo through to Dreadnoughts, and even a Lo-Fi Piezo Crunch. It’s nice to see the model evolve, and these new options make it a much more rounded instrument as compared to the two previous incarnations.
Construction
The American Acoustasonic Jazzmaster has a hollow mahogany body and a mahogany neck with a Deep ‘C’ profile. You get the standard Fender 25.5″ scale length. It is available in Ocean Turquoise, Natural, Tobacco Sunburst, Tungsten and Arctic White finishes on launch. But we could expect to see more ‘exotic’ finishes in the futures, as both the Stratocaster and Telecaster version had them previously. So there’s a chance those finishes might make a return for this model too.
These new guitars ship with a gig bag, so you can easily transport them to and from a show. However, at this price point, it would have been nice to perhaps have a hard case to protect them.
RRP – USD 1999, GBP 1749, EUR 1999
