Framus conjures the Stormbender Artist Series for Devin Townsend
Framus has just announced its Stormbender Devin Townsend Artist Series model – and it looks pretty stunning, as you would expect from this German guitar builder.
Framus Stormbender Devin Townsend Artist Series
First off, I have to say I think that Devin Townsend is a mad genius, an extremely good musician and all-around man of the people (okay, that last bit is taking it possibly a step too far). But yes, I think he is cool.
Nirvana Black
This new Artist Series model has a set-in maple neck with a lovely Tigerstripe ebony fingerboard and is finished with Devin Townsend fingerboard inlays and handy illuminated fingerboard side dots that make it easier to play on dark stages. The 22 nickel silver frets have the IFT Invisible fret system and all the fretwork has been Plek’d and so it should play flawlessly. The Stormbender is made with a mahogany body with an AA flame maple top finished in Nirvana Black high polish finish with matching black hardware.
High-Quality Hardware
This guitar has a very practical ‘Easy Access’ electronics compartment, so you can tinker when you need to. It has Warwick Security Locks to keep it from falling off your guitar strap. The hardware includes an Evertune bridge, Graph Tech Ratio Locking Machine Heads and their Tusq Low Friction nut, all of which is high-end quality stuff.
The pickups are a pair of Fishman Fluence Transendence Devin Townsend signature humbuckers, made to Devin’s preferred specifications and should be perfectly matched to this guitar.
The StormBender comes with the Starline RockBag to help you carry it around to gigs, I might have preferred a hard case, but actually, this is probably far more practical.
RRP – EUR 2999
